Polarized lighting
| When viewing artwork with reflective surfaces, you have
probably noticed thousands of dots of reflected light. By using polarized
material over our special HID lights and then a polarizing filter on the
lens, these effects can be canceled and capture the full color depth
and values of the artwork. This process is called cross-polarization and
requires very powerful lights to adjust for the polarizing filtration from
both sources.
We only use this method as a last resort if we cannot capture the work without seeing any highly reflective surfaces. |
